Purchasing Specialist
NW3C, a non-profit corporation dedicated to supporting law enforcement agencies nationwide, seeks a dedicated team player to join its Fairmont, WV staff to coordinate purchasing activity, process purchasing documents, and support related accounting operations.
The successful candidate will develop and maintain vendor relations, process purchasing requisitions, maintain related records, obtain and evaluate vendor quotes, compile cost analysis reports, prepare credit applications, support accounts payable, process invoices for payment, create and maintain receipt logs, maintain fixed asset records, reconcile major accounts, prepare reports and handle other general accounting or other responsibilities.
The position requires an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school with a minimum of two years directly related experience, or significant practical experience in purchasing, accounts payable and/or other related accounting activity. Must have experience with computerized accounting systems and spreadsheet software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics SL or Solomon accounting software is a plus, as is experience with federal or grant-funded non-profit corporations. Must be highly organized, capable of effectively managing multiple priorities/projects, able to meet tight deadlines, able to maintain confidentiality, have a commitment to a client service environment, able to interface effectively with many people in a fast-paced environment, and able to make appropriate decisions independently.
